For students interested in identifying Writing Intensive (WI) courses, please refer to the Schedule of Classes (SoC). To search for WI courses, follow the steps below:

1. Log in with UMBC credentials
2. Click the option for “More Filters”
3. Then under the section for “Course Attribute” select “General Education Program” from the drop down menu
4. Then under the section for “Course Attribute Value” select “Writing Intensive” at the bottom of the drop down menu
5. Then click the “Search” button and a list of courses that fulfill the WI requirement will populate

** Students can also check their academic pathway and major requirements to see if a WI course is required for their major and/or discuss the best WI option for the pathway with an academic advisor. **
